|
|
We're looking for feedback from participants in the Spread the WWWord! partnership program.
- What's working?
- What's not?
- What could we do to improve the program?
- Are there additional resources we could provide that would be helpful?
Every partner who posts a comment before midnight June 30 will be entered into a drawing to receive 5,000 banner impressions. Thanks for your help.

Paul Steinbrueck

Hello,
It would help me if the graphics links would work on my website. I copy and paste them just as provided but they don't work. I have used a text link for a long time because of this.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

The instructions on the graphics page say you're supposed to save the graphic and upload it to the server/account where your website is hosted. Then you would change the image URL in the code accordingly.
However, I wonder how many people are in the same boat as you (hey, that's why we're asking for feedback ) So, we'll give some thought to removing those steps and allowing partners to simply copy and paste the code, referencing the image directly from our server.

Dear Brother Paul,
I am suggesting to have a few different OurChurch.com graphics for the partners to choose from, to place on their websites (with the appropriate codes and the partners' ID # incorporated). |
Thanks Dr. Veerman. That's a good idea. I think we have other OCC banners that we use but haven't put on the partnership graphics page.

Oopps.. That explains it. I think I read that before but at the time it didn't sink in. I am a little better at this webmaster thing now so that was all the help I needed. They work fine now.
THANKS for the help

Hi there, I'm in the same boat, I copied & pasted instead of saving & uploading and it didn't work out. A lot of the stuff that I tried coping & pasting did not work out...so, I use text most of the time. And I'm still not sure about the saving & uploading...pictures, I understand but I'm not sure about that. I love it here and I've mentioned it to a lot of people and I know of at least 5 who took my advice and have a website now! Thank YOU for all the help you've given us! I'm afraid that I am letting our website fall behind for our church's.
I really like simple and I would REALLY like it if you could fix it so I wouldn't have to add birthdays & annverisaries every year! So, I ramble!
God Bless YOU and Yours,
Nancy

|
|
Good afternoon,
I thought of another issue... I have a feeling that some, or many, of the partners may have commission earned with a balance less than $50 to receive the quarterly check. Their balance may have been low for some time, as mine is.
If the commission is actual money, could this be issued at the end of the year, even if it is less than $50??
Or would there be an opportunity to donate/transfer this (low or high) commision to an Ourchurch.com member, such as a non-profit Christian organization, church or ministry?

nancyb and Pennywish - thanks for the additional comments about the graphics. Seems like allowing partners to reference the graphics on our server instead of having to download and put them on their own server would be a big help
Dr. Veerman - we'll give your suggestion about balances under the $50 threshold some thought. The main issue is the administrative/bookkeeping time involved with sending out small checks, but giving partners the option to transfer their earnings to OCC credit either to themselves or another ministry would greatly reduce that. So, we'll talk about that option.
Great ideas! Keep the suggestions coming!

Brother Paul,
Yes, I can understand your point about the administrative/bookkeeping issues of sending out small checks..
Nevertheless, giving partners, both with balances under and above $50, a choice and the opportunity to receive OCC service instead of $$ can be a great advantage for both, partners as well as OCC.
Perhaps provide an incentive for partners to choose OCC service instead of $$. _________________ Minister Dr. Trudy Veerman,

Our church is small and we were lucky enough to be able to take advantage of the sponsors option in order to get our site paid. If we earned a commission I would rather have it in the form of an OCC credit
than $$. That would be a great way to build some credit toward our next website service and help earn OCC some new business at the same time. |

Pennywish,
Congrats! Your name was selected as the winner of the 5,000 banner impressions for contributing to the suggestions discussion last month. I've added those 5,000 impressions to the 2,000 you are receiving this month as the randomly selected Spread the WWWord! winner in June.
We discussed the idea of using commissions earned towards OCC credit and we like. So, any time you like you can convert commissions earned to OCC credt. Just contact the help desk and let us know your username and the ID# of the site you want to transfer the credit to. You can do this for any amount - no minimum.
We will also be updating the HTML code for the graphics so you can simply copy and paste it into your website without having to download the graphic to your server and modify the code. It may be a few weeks before that happens but it will happen before the Partnership newsletter goes out at the end of the month.
Thanks again for all the suggestions. Please keep them coming. We're open to anything that would increase the participation and effectiveness of the partnership program.
In His Service,
Paul Steinbrueck

| I realize this is late coming in. I signed up to participate in the spreading the wwword but have never been able to get my logos to work so I gave up trying. if it was easier to accomplish or if I had someone to talk me thru, it might be worth pursuing. |

salembaptist,
I would be glad to help if you will tell me where you are getting confused. Have you already created a 468x60 banner? Do you have it displayed on your site? It may help if I had the URL to your site.

We have updated the HTML code partners can use to refer their visitors to OurChurch.Com so that it references the graphics on our server. There's no need to copy graphics to your server and modify the code. All you have to do to add a graphic that links to OCC is copy and paste the HTML code into your web pages.
