New NE1 templates are now available.

Hi folks,

Mike just finished creating and installing the e new NE1 templates that received the most votes in the January poll. Here are the screenshots:

1) Purple and black Easter theme, menu on the left, image of 3 crosses on the top right). A black background for the webmaster's text to go on and a purple menu with white lettering.



2) a wider version of the template with brownish leather on the left side

Rather than create a new template for this idea, we replaced both templates based on this theme (one with a guitar on the bottom left and one without). If you are currently using one of these templates, to switch to the wider version, you'll need to import a different template, delete the old template, then import the template again.



8) Browns, creams, navy, dark grays, maroons, green (dark almost black green)... etc. Layers of colors that coordinate to add the drama and look elegant without looking ordinary.

Due to lack of participation we will no longer be using polls to select the new templates. OCC staff will select 3 templates from among the posted template suggetsions to create. So continue to post your ideas.

Hi Folks,

We've changed up the development of the new NE1 templates a bit. Previously we were created 3 new templates each month based on poll results. Due to a lack of participation in the polls we've done away with them. Additionally, we were able to acquire some new templates from another source. So...

This month we have 2 templates we created

1) Mothers - This is template includes a scripture passage and is great for Mother's Day as well as any site that focuses on motherhood issues



2) Lighthouse - A lighthouse theme has been one of the most requested. This cool template actually has a Flash header which makes the light beam rotate (though not in this screenshot)



The other 3 templates we've added are "linkware," which means they are free to use, but they include a link to the developer's website which cannot be removed.

3) Manuscript - I nice template for writers



4) The Old Forest



5) The Harvest - Could be used seasonally, for a site focused in a farming community, or for a site focused on the spiritual harvest.



Hope you like them. This is likely how we'll go about adding new templates for the forseable future - 2 new Christian/season templates we create in-house and 3 new linkware templates.

I would like to see more templates with the side menu instead of those running across the top. Many of us have long menu's and can't use the newest additions.

We've been trying to maintain a balance between top menu and side menu templates. But after some further reflection, there are many sites that can't use top menu templates because they simply have to many items in them main menu. Whereas everyone can use a template with a site menu. So, we'll try to create a higher percentage of side menu templates in the future.

We've got another 5 new NE1 templates available now, 2 we created ourselves and 3 courtesy of other developers (which require a link back to their sites). Those of you with lots of items in your main menu should appreciate the fact that all 5 templates have side menus.

The 2 templates we created...

1) Father's Day - This is template includes a scripture passage and is great for Father's Day page or you can use for your entire site in the days leading up to Father's Day.



2) Graduation - It's that time of year so we thought this would be a nice seasonal addition.



The other 3 templates we've added are "linkware," which means they are free to use, but they include a link to the developer's website which cannot be removed.

3) Ocean Frame - This template has a nice image of oceans waves on the left side, but what makes it unique is that its the first NE1 template that puts the body of the page into a frame.



4) Deserted - A desert scene



5) Decorative - A decorative template that could be used for any site.

3) Notepad - A nice template for writers or students.



4) Fluid Solution - This template is simple, yet unique in that it has the menu on the right and the news summaries right of the menu.



5) Angelic - A simple template with a background that includes a whispy cloud, or is it an angel?
